With “humour effusing from almost every expression” (Ed Fringe Review), the “incomparable” (Broadway World) Posey Mehta is an “endlessly creative and subversive” (Fringe Biscuit) newcomer to the alternative comedy and theatre scene.
Drawing upon training at Ecole Philippe Gaulier and the SITI company, she blends physical theatre, clown and character comedy to create transgressive, genre-blurring work that always centres comedy, laughter and play, even while grappling with her experiences as a fat, queer, mixed-race person.
Her debut show, 'I Am Not A Gorilla', racked up a bevy of 4- and 5-star reviews to become the 22nd best reviewed comedy show at Edinburgh Fringe 2022. It then transferred to the Pleasance, Islington and Soho Theatre. Posey considers this pretty fucking cool considering she only started this whole performing malarkey last year.
