Eden Jun is a Korean-British writer and actor from Seoul and Birmingham. She started developing her solo work at CPT as a Starting Blocks 2022 artist, after taking part in New Earth Theatre Performers Academy and the Solo Show Creation Lab by Haley McGee. Sabrina Mahfouz, her mentor, has inspired her to write and perform political feminist work.

Eden’s work is fun and approachable to regular and non-theatregoers alike, has representation at its heart, and tackles challenging themes in a playful way that connects people across generations and communities. She is also writing a TV pilot and a family science theatre show.

Directing Eden Jun's I'm Sorry I'm Not Lucy Liu:

Francesca Hsieh (she/her) is an Asian-American director and theatre maker based in London. An advocate for equity and anti-racism in the arts, her work has been featured in Classical Singer Magazine, American Theatre Magazine, and The Salt Lake Tribune. She adapted and directed Cocaine Triptych, which won Outstanding Live Production at Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, and is the Assistant Director on Headlong's A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction, directed by Katie Mitchell. She has her MA in Theatre Directing from Royal Holloway, University of London and her BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from the University of Utah.

Choose-your-own-advocacy: how to ask for what you need

I'm Sorry I'm Not Lucy Liu is a show where you can choose your own adventure through time with ‘Eden’, on her quest to become a superstar after her idol and nemesis Lucy Liu. Eden Jun, the writer and performer, goes back in time to a neurodivergent kid between two seemingly disparate cultures, and learns lessons on self-advocacy.

Choose-your-own-advantage: find your form based on how you think

Making a choose-your-own-adventure time-travel show is a non-linear process for a neurodivergent artist who can never think of one thing at a time. Can how we naturally think help us find the form of our creative project? Eden Jun reflects on how I'm Sorry I'm Not Lucy Liu was shaped by her neurodivergence, and the joy of following the grain of her brain.
