  • Déviniat Adedibu

    Déviniat {Dee-vin-yah} is a British-Nigerian actor, writer and multi-disciplinary artist from North London. She trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School graduating in 2020 and she’s all about creating thought-provoking theatre and work that challenges societal issues. Déviniat has played roles in short films and her other acting work include, NW (BBC), Eastenders and The Weekend Movie.

    She has most recently been working at the Almeida Theatre as resident participation assistant and has assistant directed various young company productions. Déviniat was also Jerwood Trainee assistant director at the Young Vic 2022 before joining their Fresh Direction & Intro to Making programme 2023. She is currently on Soho Writers Lab 24/2025 developing her debut play and also has a short film in production. Déviniat works to explore complex relationship dynamics through genres of drama, psychological drama and comedy.

    Déviniat also has a background in community engagement & participatory arts and has worked with various theatres buildings including; Lyric Hammersmith, Theatre 503, Talawa Theatre, Theatre Peckham, Hackney Showroom, National Youth Theatre and more. Her aim is to create stories that influence perspective and is explorative of Black British culture and the wider human experience.

    Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
