The Devil's Eyelash is written by queer cabaret cult figure Charlie Wood. Charlie (she/they) is the founder and host of misfit cabaret 'Miss Ellaneous' alongside Frankie Thompson. She is the coproducer of 'Be Gay, Boycott Eurovision' and fronts the viral orchestral punk band THWACK!. Her cabaret work is regularly commissioned as part of projects like 'Cabrole' and 'Diverse Alarums' and has been shown at the V&A, Glastonbury, The Southbank Centre and more. She has written various short plays and musicals and was a founding member of Queer'd - a mythology storytelling collective. Charlie's work is recognisable by it's wit, horror, whimsy and heart with huge iconoclastic costumes and haunting narratives. It has an anti-establishment punk rock flair with a spirit of queer community and trans liberation at it's core. This play was developed with Soho Theatre's playwright course and would be their first fully produced theatrical show.

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
