Tamiko worked as a lawyer in the City for a decade before changing career. Since 2021, she has published 5 poetry books with 5 independent publishers. She won the BBC Radio 3 carol competition 2021, and her songs have been picked up for musical theatre writing nights variously. She was a member of ATG Surrey’s Musical Theatre Writing Programme 2024/5 and six of her songs were chosen for the ATG showcase in June 2025 hosted by Susie Dent. She featured in Series 3, Episode 2 (Brighton Station) of Channel 4’s “The Piano” in 2025, where Mika and Jon Batiste described her piano as beautiful, precise and balanced.
