    Doug Crossley is a writer and performer. His credits include TREE SHALL NOT BE MOVED (Sky Comedy Rep), CRUSH HOUR (Audible, podcast of in The Guardian and Sunday Times Culture), GIVE ME ONE MOMENT IN TIME (Oxford Playhouse & Pleasance Futures), and BETWEEN THE RIOT AND THE RAINBOW (Arcola Theatre). Past recognition includes a place on the BAFTA Rocliffe Forum List and being a finalist for the Mercury Weinberger Playwriting Prize. He creates tragicomic work that explores themes of the working class, LGBTQ+ experiences, mental illness, addiction, trauma, and political challenges, grounded in human realities. Previously, he’s created work for York Theatre Royal, Theatre503, Bush Theatre, Arcola Theatre, and more.     The Magic of Works-In-Progress

    In the vibrant world of theatre, there's a special kind of performance that often goes unnoticed by the general public but is cherished by artists and dedicated theatre-goers alike: the work-in-progress (WIP). As Camden People's Theatre begins its Autumn 2024 season, we're pulling back the curtain on these unique shows and inviting you to be part of the creative process.


    "Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
