Carla Ng (she/they) is a Hong Kong-born, now London-based director, composer, multi-instrumentalist, theatre technician & producer working across music, theatre & live arts.

Like a 4D tesseract botanical garden/swamp, Carla’s practice inevitably bleeds into each other. Her work is absurd, raw, honest, explosive, spectacular, rebellious, chaotic, emotional. As an hardcore advocate on always prioritizing JOY in one’s creative practice, Carla’s work always centres around people, community and the human experience, in-front and behind the curtains.

Occasionally caught in the act as DJ HUGO BALL, Carla is joining the transgender mafia by learning how to DJ, collecting 0-hour jobs contracts and fund-raising for her Harp Concerto / Animated Film “The Curious Adventure of Ms Basin”.

There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
