  • Aijamal Nova

    Aijamal is a London-based actor and theatre maker originally from Kyrgyzstan. She graduated from East 15 Acting school. One of her devised plays, 'Raspberry Field' (Inspired by the Shamanic initiation rituals of Siberia) that she wrote, co-directed, and acted alongside an all-female cast ensemble, was chosen for the International Festival of New Work that premiered in November 2020. She is also an ensemble member with HalfPace theatre, a theatre company supporting new, unusual work and devised theatre created by underrepresented artists.

    Aijamal is very interested and inspired by Shamanism, Ritual performance and Holy theatre and a lot of her work is influenced by these elements.

    Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
