Vera Majoor is a London-based Dutch theatre-maker and performer. They studied Directing / Drama Teaching at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg before completing their MA Advanced Theatre Practice at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Their work centres the lesser-heard sides of stories, often found in the morally grey thoughts we censor as imperfect human beings. Through absurdism, comedy and gentle confrontation, they seek to soften the judgement of their audience and prepare them for a world in which thinking patterns are not set in stone.
Vera likes to lead in a collaborative environment, creating theatre that is both physical and has a sense of musicality. They are also a member of Diagnostic Trouble Code, an international theatre company creating bold, political and playful ensemble performances who recently debuted at Camden People's Theatre with their show “The Terribly Credible Definitely Edible Tale of the Town of Cropshire”. In the Netherlands, they devised and performed in the immersive one-on-one experience “SELECT”, and directed an adaptation of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” for the 39Graden Festival in Breda.
