Nwoko Arts was set up by Maria Paul, a working class woman of mixed heritage.
Maria has a passion for retelling untold stories from communities whose stories are rarely heard in Theatre.
Her plays are based on her own lived experience and the experience of others. Nwoko's aim is to convey the intimacy and truth of peoples thoughts and experiences of their personal feelings towards issues that affect them.
Nwoko strives to archive these voices and memories with the hope that they will create a legacy for the stories that are told and shared.
