Based in Leeds, TheatreState makes fun, surprising shows and projects that fuse the personal and political to ask big questions and reimagine the world as we know it. Led by Tess Seddon and Ali Ford, the company works with experienced performers and people who’ve never been on stage before. Recipient of Nesta’s Democracy Pioneer’s Award in 2020, TheatreState is currently developing Politics Could Never: a podcast about politics, developed with young people aged 16-18 in Seacroft (due for release in February 2022). Previous shows include Tribute Acts (national tour), The Fanny Hill Project (national tour) and Git (The Yard).
