  • Varjack-Lowry presents

    iMelania (digital)

    Tues 3 March at 8pm
    Tickets PWYC from £5
Using Melania Trump as an avatar of an 'acceptably' foreign woman, Varjack-Lowry explore experiences of being foreign and female, and the cost of belong, in this digital performance.

This is a digital event - you will receive a link to attend the show on the morning of 3rd March.

Did you see the new Melania documentary? Neither did we, or anyone else for that matter...

Since the film is a box office flop, see our critically acclaimed digital experience instead!

Set in a borderless landscape of social media, WhatsApp, Zoom calls and 24 hour news cycles, iMelania is an audio-visual experience that takes place on your mobile and desktop, simultaneously.

Varjack-Lowry use Melania Trump as an avatar of an “acceptably” foreign woman, obscuring and questioning experiences of being foreign in post-Brexit Britain.

With the overwhelming nature of the global digital landscape, how do we use social media to engage with current affairs and connect? How do we use it to escape? A playful, dizzying, online exploration between a duo of dual heritage women investigating borders and belonging.

iMelania was originally released in 2021, at the end of the first Trump administration. Yet here we are in 5 years later and the themes of xenophobia, racism and rising nationalism are sadly even more prevalent and dangerous.

Join us for this one off fundraising digital performance event, with a post show Q&A to reflect together and discuss the themes of the show and how it applies to 2026. All profits will be donated to Stand Up to Racism.
