A one-man eulogy commemorating Vincent van Gogh through his brother Theo's eyes – exploring grief, hope in mental illness, the unbreakable bond of brotherhood, and the enduring power of art.

One week after Vincent van Gogh's untimely death, his bereft younger brother Theo navigates the grief of his passing by citing letters from their years-long correspondence to celebrate the Dutch painter's life and legacy – while projections of his paintings present Vincent's feelings and worldview.

Richard Canal Tinius plays both temperate Theo and volatile Vincent in this heartfelt solo show written by Leonard Nimoy: a moving and visually enchanting eulogy that conveys the relatable experience of loving someone who struggles with mental illness, expresses the devastating aftermath of suicide, and disproves the myth of the lone artist by looking past the legend and instead at the person van Gogh was – all while revealing one of the unsung heroes behind his legacy.

VINCENT strips back our understanding of van Gogh through the eyes of his patron, advocate, confidante, and, first and foremost, sibling – and reveals him not as a madman, martyr, or monk, but as a devotee of God, humanity, art, and love.
