CONNECTING THROUGH CREATIVITY!
Take a break from doom scrolling! We encourage you to put screens away & be old school again.
Release your inner child at our community day at CPT! A chance to connect through creativity: Attend workshops and pop by to play, create and reminisce! Leave your adult at home!
Food & drink provided (alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the bar)
Friendship bracelet making (All day!)
There will be the opportunity to make friendship bracelets all day in the foyer, as well as the chance to buy jewellery from a local community artist (and some henna!)
Drama & Play workshop by 'PlayFace' theatre! (14:00 - 15:30)
Play is important for us, it helps us destress, feel connected, fuels creativity and more. So, come and play with us! This workshop is all about stepping into a care-free, childlike curiosity and sense of fun, delight and PLAY.
We're leaving the outside world behind and have designed this workshop to have you being present and in the moment. We're taking games from all sorts of places including childhood games, movement games, word games and even some of our favourite comedy games too. Expect to have lots of fun and giggles.
When's the last time you spent a few hours just messing about for the fun of it?
Throwback - the workshop! (15:30 - 16:30)
How long since you last ate a potato smiley face? When did you last go down a slide?
It's been a while, right?
But why?
If it was fun all those years ago, I bet it would be fun now.
Why not try?
This casual, come-and-go-as-you-are session is all about creating that warm feeling of joy when remembering something you loved as a child. This is a no pressure, no judgement moment to rediscover the childlike joy and whimsy that we grown ups often forget to find. Contribute to our community collage, tell a tale, or play with some toys we thought we'd left in the 80s/90s/00s.
Drawing Workshop exploring problems around alcohol and escape routes from its hold (16:30 - 17:30 with option to extend)
Please come to a one hour drawing workshop to explore alcohol - why we drink/drank: why we stop/stopped and how we stay stopped.
There will be easy, explorative, engaging and sometimes daring drawing games and exercises around alcohol drinking/misuse/addiction.
All art experiences are welcome. However, this workshop is only open to 16 plus.
This workshop accompanies, Drawing on the Bottle, a live drawing show at Camden People’s Theatre from April 17-19 at 19.15. Live projected drawings with music, comedy and pathos that
explore the seduction of alcohol, the reality of ethanol and the need to step away.
Just to note, I’m not a therapist but am an artist running workshops and can see the benefits of drawing to unleash, unfurl knots of confusion, sadness, stuckness and want to share this with
you.
