For a better life / Pour une vie meilleure Presented by Carlota Matos & Joana Merlini

POUR UNE VIE MEILLEURE (‘For a better life’) is a performance piece which portrays the lives of Portuguese immigrants, exploring their memories from the Salazar dictatorship and the journeys that brought them to live in another country. In light of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution and inspired by the work of photographer Gérald Bloncourt, who documented Portuguese migration between 1954 and 1974, this project delves into the complexities of migration, identity, and belonging. Through a personal perspective, it grapples with the challenge of connecting to collective history while questioning identity. The piece crosses art forms and subverts the genre of documentary theatre, finding new ways of using documentation and interviews on stage, and experimenting with visual narratives.

Would I lie to you? Presented by Mushmoss Collective

A mind-bending game show where the audience shapes the truth while deceiving each other.

Blending neuroscience with a British panel show, this interactive experience delves into the art and science of lying and the nature of shared reality.

Through voting, cooperative storytelling, and strategic deception, we unravel the story of two people locked in a shifting relationship—blurring the lines between perception and dishonesty. Who’s lying? Who controls the truth? And what happens when it all unravels?

How do we navigate uncertainty, together - which path will we choose?

“Did you know when you lie, your amygdala shrinks? Each time. Your guilt fades, and your emotional centre shrivels—until it’s the size of an old walnut.”

Baby World Presented by Hooky Productions / Rosa Thomas, Maya Hallpike

Award-winning creators of Experiment Human invite you into the mind boggling world of Baby World, a parallel universe full of different rules and regulations where Babies run riot. This dark, absurdist comedy surrounds the characters of The Baby and The Bad One.

As the story unfolds, the audience will have opportunities to interact, ultimately helping The Baby see a way out, know who to trust, and escape the grips of The Bad One.

This is a chance for the creators to share Baby World with the audience through a debut scratch which will hopefully go on to develop into a full length experience. The audience will experience the creators diving into a new universe, and taking a risk with an idea that has been brewing for years and never seen the light of day!
