The 262 by Jonny Khan
One Shed. Two DJ Decks. A million forgotten family stories. With a live DJ set and some dodgy dance moves, this story is about raving and British Asian joy.
Aadam and Kamran lock themselves away in their parents shed with nothing but their decks, speakers and records. Desperate to keep the outside world out, they attempt to build a world of their own through their tunes, creating their own versions of stories never fully told before.
Combining a live DJ set and spoken word, The 262 is an exploration of self discovery through forgotten generational stories and banging dancefloor tunes.
The music will be loud and the vibes will be strong, so bring your dancing shoes and let the wheel ups commence!
Sticky Floors by Laurie Stevens
What would you do if your best friend punched you? A wild mashup of character comedy, clown, drag and live music exploring the most emo emotion: teenage anger.
It’s 2006, and David is preparing for the gig of a lifetime: headlining Sticky Floors, the coolest under-16s band night in the Bay Area.
David’s, like, super mature for a fourteen-year-old – he reads Sartre, totally gets current affairs, and has the artistic integrity never to use Limewire. But he can’t understand why his bandmate is being such an asshole! So David has to embark upon his music career alone, armed with his electric guitar, drum kit, loop station, and an unwavering commitment to rock.
Developed as part of Starting Blocks 2023, Laurie Stevens’s debut show explores teenage anger – and where it goes when we choose not to punch back.

"Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
