    Art for Art's Sake

    Tue 18 - Wed 19 Jun at 9pm
    Tickets £8 + booking fee (work-in-progress)
    ARCHIVE
A theatrical extravaganza looking at the issues surrounding homelessness through art, drama, dance, spoken word, song, standup and music. Written and performed by those with lived experience of homelessness and/or the criminal justice system.

Get 25% off when you book more than one show across The Camden Roar (4 - 23 June 2024). We'd personally recommend GRILLS, a 5-star show about 80s lesbians (and so much more), at 7pm the same night.

Art For Art's Sake is a multimedia extravaganza based on a true story about homelessness, written and performed by those with lived experience of homelessness and/or the criminal justice system. Using drama, visual art, dance, song, performance poetry and comedy stand up to tell the story of a group of people who come together to try and raise money to help real people struggling to get accommodation.

Set around various iconic locations in the Borough of Camden, Art For Art's Sake is a true heartfelt piece about how community can join together to make a difference. The show originated from a short piece developed in workshops at Cardboard Citizens and audio recordings at the Arts & Homelessness Festival in Coventry.

Some of the show is immersive, with a brief Q&A session embedded into the show. Some of the artwork on display can be purchased to help raise funds for further development of the piece.
