Art For Art's Sake is a multi-media extravaganza by the company Artopia. It is based on a true story about homelessness written and performed by those with lived experience of homelessness and/ or the criminal justice system. It uses drama, visual art, dance, song, performance poetry and comedy stand up to tell the story of a group of people who come together to try and raise money to help real people struggling to get accommodation. Set around various iconic locations in the Borough of Camden, it is a true heartfelt piece about how community can join together to make a difference. Some of the show is Immersive. There will also be a brief question and answer session included as part of the show. Some of the artwork on display can be purchased to help raise funds for further development of the piece. It is a work in progress that originated as a short piece developed in workshops at Cardboard Citizens and extracts have been read at a festival of homelessness in Coventry and as an audio recording.
