Deafinitely Youth Theatre (DYT) is Deafinitely Theatre’s youth programme, supporting deaf and hard of hearing young people to create original theatre in British Sign Language.
DYT provides a welcoming, creative space where young people can develop their confidence, performance skills and artistic identity. Members meet regularly across the year to explore theatre making from the ground up – devising ideas, experimenting and collaborating as an ensemble.
The programme is led by experienced deaf directors and theatre professionals who support participants through the creative process. Every production is youth-led, shaped by their interests, experiences and imagination.
All DYT performances are presented in British Sign Language with creative captions.
DYT champions deaf talent, celebrates youth perspectives and works to nurture the next generation of deaf theatre makers.
