Hoarding usually begins at a young age. The act can be directly influenced by parental behaviour and tends to increase after trauma, so when a triple whammy of unexpected bereavements shatters Susanna’s life, her memories became a shrine to the past.
Hoarding is not OCD. Hoarding is not clutter. Hoarding is the persistent difficulty in being able to throw things away. Susanna stands in front of a mountain of memories and holds on to what happened...
Landfill of Memories can only be performed while Susanna still has the memories. Once the material is gone from her life, no show is the same.
Expect shredding, storytelling, singing, comedy, dancing and jogging in this autobiographical piece of theatre.
Be part of the show:
Do you have a memory you’d like to share? Something you want to get off your chest? Perhaps letters from someone who did you wrong, a picture of an ex you keep meaning to throw out? Or even a happy memory you just want to send out into the world, then Susanna would like to hear from you...
If you’d like to be part of Landfill of Memories, please email your memory to susanna.amato@hotmail.com subject ‘Landfill of Memories’ or bring it along with you to the performance!
Please note: Any memory used in the show will be made anonymous and any real names will be changed.
"Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
