“You’re Alright” is a new dance-comedy from award winning choreographer, Sam Burkett, which combines comedy, contemporary dance, and a splash of physical theatre to take you on the journey of a night out gone awry.
“You’re Alright” follows the story of recently unemployed, 20 something, Charlie, who’s planning a night out with her best mate, Andy. Unfortunately, Andy’s running late, so Charlie's stuck with his annoying boyfriend until he arrives. “You’re Alright” is a night out of high energy, queer fun with a hilarious and relatable story about queer friendship, growth, and accepting that maybe you were the one being a d*ckhead.
Known for being both highly creative and extremely sweaty, Sam is a choreographer and comedian whose work runs the emotional gamut from happy to sad to hungry to gay. Their choreography has been shown in both the UK and the US, and their solo, Crop Tops Make Me Feel Vulnerable, won the Best of Anything Goes Award at the 2018 Houston Fringe Festival. They can be seen regularly performing improv comedy across London including at The Free Association as part of their house queer team, Summer Camp.
"CPT is as a beacon of fringe goodness, a theatre that champions diversity, inclusivity and the best kind of weird uniqueness"
