The UCL Drama Society's PRIDE is back! Their three shows will feature a colourful and varied series of short performances , united together in their storytelling surrounding LGBTQ+ experience.

PRIDE 2024 is the Drama Society’s annual LGBTQ+ showcase, including a series of pieces loosely surrounding queer themes put on by queer identifying individuals and allies within the society. The showcase this year aims to highlight the omnipresence of queer experience—the reality that queerness is everywhere, no matter how much it may be suppressed, censored or misconstrued. Through featuring stories that stray from stereotypical queer tropes in popular media, we aim to show that LGBTQ+ individuals are much more than the few narratives written for them, but that queer experience is personal and multifaceted instead. Ultimately, PRIDE aims to be a colourful reflection and celebration of the queer voices and stories within the Drama Society.

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
