Theatre Tapas: Not Your Average Bedtime Stories

    Mon 31st March at 7:30pm
    Tickets £8 - £15 (+ booking fee)
3 brand new works-in-progress featuring truly original storytelling. A vast choose-your-own-adventure, a drag/dance mythology about diaspora, and performance art/puppetry about microplastics and what we owe to the earth.

Sam Dodgshon Tries to Hold Your Attention For 20 Minutes (Running Time 15 minutes)

In ‘Sam Dodgshon Tries to Hold Your Attention For 20 Minutes (Running Time 15 minutes) the audience is presented with a sprawling flowchart and an infinite sequence of tiny decisions. Their answers control the performer and shape his performance, creating the most perfect and unique show for any circumstance whilst posing questions like; do decisions make us feel powerful? Do we use decisions to make us feel like control? And, without lots of small decisions to extert power over, is life just a big meaningless empty void of powerlessness, each person a cog in a wider machine which serves no purpose other than greasing other cogs, all cogs and no play makes jack a dull boy, all cogs and no cogs makes jack a dull boy, all cogs and no cogs make cog a cog cog?

(I've got you) under my skin - Dubious Company

I'm addicted to you. Don't you know that you're toxic? Not your grandmother's kitchen sink drama.

‘(I’ve got you) under my skin’ is Dubious Co.'s second devised piece in development. We wish to question why we normalise our consumption of microplastics but love to scrutinise our toxic relationships.

This is a show for our fellow part-plastic people. Which is everyone.

“It means so much to be working at CPT, it’s such a good opportunity to work in a professional environment at my age. I didn’t think that was ever going to happen and it means the world to me. It’s really going to help prepare me for my future and where I want to go”
