Toxic parents, anyone? The Wedding Speech is a comedy about the codependent bond between a glamourous and critical mother and her long-suffering daughter.

Rosemary is about to do a speech at her mother’s wedding. She’s not quite sure how to hit the right note as the relationship between Rosemary and her mother has been... less than rosy.

A co-dependent parental bond can become normalised and take years to unpick. Rosemary loves her Mum but she's ready to break the cycle of toxic behaviour. What tools will she used to achieve her goals?

The Wedding Speech is a "wildly relatable" and "poignant" piece which speaks to the impact of the primary relationship on an individual, and the blind spots it can create in a seemingly self-aware person.

"Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
