A free collaborative song-making workshop, led by local musician, Lorraine Hayward.

Part of the Camden Roar Festival, 3 weeks of theatre & creativity handpicked by our local steering group.

A small corner of North London has shaped a huge array of music. Where, might you ask?

You guessed it: Camden, of course!

Many iconic acts - from the likes of Amy Winehouse to Noel Gallagher - have been inspired by Camden. Be part of Camden’s ever-evolving music scene at Camden People’s Theatre. Come and work collaboratively to create a song inspired by Camden, with local musician Lorraine Hayward.

    In this workshop you will:

    ·   Gain an understanding of the songwriting process

    ·   Learn from an experienced musician

    ·   Collaboratively create a song inspired by Camden

    ·   Explore use of instruments, voice and software to create music

    ·   Listen to music and get inspired

    ·   Leave with your own Camden-inspired song!

Lorraine Hayward is a local musician who has worked for many years with adults with mental health, co-creating songs to support people to self-express through music

A free workshop which is part of our Community Takeover Day at Camden People's Theatre on Sun 9th June. Spaces are limited so (free) booking is required.

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
