Walking is hard, puberty is harder.

In 2012, boy lost the use of his legs but that’s the least of his worries. His school crush doesn’t know his name, his mum won’t stop shouting and he still can’t afford a prostitute.

Combining Theatre and Stand up, The Benefits of Disabled Sex is a semi autobiographical one man show exploring disability, youth, crotches and crutches.

Written and Performed by Sonny Howes
    Directed by Uri Roodner

The Benefits of Disabled Sex trailer

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
