Gamer girls: do they really exist? why do they want attention so badly? do you want to drink our bath water? no, really, that's a serious question.

Is that a joy-con in your pocket, or are you pleased to see us? Armed with plasmids, meelee weapons, and enough energy drinks to kill a small dog, Player One and Player Two are on a mission to uncover the truth about women in the gaming industry.

Inspired by real testimonies from women working within the gaming industry, Sluts With Consoles is an anarchic, high energy, dark comedy created to heal the edgy teenage 'not-like-other-girls' girl inside us all.

When your world is falling apart and nothing makes sense, who wouldn't want to retreat into a fantasy world where you're the hero? Part love-letter to the games we grew up with, and part coming of age temper tantrum, Sluts With Consoles is an exploration of girlhood, escapism, and the need for control amid chaos... however, with gamergate, gatekeeping and growing up to contend with, maybe being in control isn't as much fun as it's cracked up to be...

This is a show about video games, the women who love them, and the community we wish would love us back.

Supported by South Street Arts Centre.

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
