    An adaptation - performed in BSL - of Charles Dickens' famous Christmas ghost story'A Christmas Carol'

    Scrooge is a" new visual theatre show performed in British Sign Language and with Spoken English and captioning. This new adaption turns this well-known story into a one-man show incorporating digital mapping with several characters from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and integrates live and digital action on stage. D-live! Theatre productions are Deaf-led, groundbreaking and dynamic, combing varied theatre genres. Our work is one of a kind, integrating the physical expression of Visual Vernacular and digital technology. This results in a distinctive, unique and predominantly visual piece of theatre. Recommend age: 6 years +.

    Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
