Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman is a devised show where two confused ladies in their late-twenties submerge themselves in Britney’s story to interrogate their own adultness. Expect fun noughties nostalgia as we rip apart our pet peeves surrounding daddy issues and female hysteria. Delving into pop culture’s 21st century evolution and awareness of victim-blaming, we dabble in dance, live music, other-people’s-poetry, comedy, and game structures in order to unpack what we can learn from the Princess of Pop (all the while trying not to have an existential crisis). It’s messy, it’s a 13-year-old’s sleepover nightmare, and it’s about control. Female control.
