The Intergenerational Trans Theatre Artists Surgery is a one-off workshop for 30 emerging trans* theatre artists aged 16 to 30. It is a chance to meet, learn from, and share space with older, established trans and GNC performance-makers.

The session begins with an Ask Me Anything. You can ask how established artists have made it work, how they stay creative, and what they’ve learned.

After that, each guest artist will lead a mini-workshop. They will share the tools and exercises that form the backbone of their practice.

Next is a free-form surgery. This is a space to ask questions, get advice, or talk through creative blocks. Artists will be split into smaller groups to allow for more focused time.

You can bring your current ideas or projects. You can also just come and listen. There is no pressure to perform or present.

This session is about skill-building, shared experience, and making community. There will be space to connect with other trans artists in the room. Peer support is encouraged throughout.

You will leave with new tools, new connections, and a stronger sense of where your work could go.

This workshop is for trans and gender nonconforming theatre artists who want to grow, ask questions, and meet others doing the same.

What is the Trans Theatre Collective?

The Trans Theatre Collective (TTC) is founded by Sas Kraftowitz to support and empower emerging trans* theatre-makers. Launched with a six-week programme in partnership with NYT and supported by the GLA, TTC offers mentorship, skills development, and peer connection. It's part of a wider movement to make space for trans voices in theatre, by and for trans people. TTC is here to accelerate access, community, and craft for trans artists, and to challenge the industry to do better by those it has too often overlooked.
