I Don’t Know Why I’m Crying is a multimedia drag fantasia on epidemiological themes.

The year is 2143. Two stuffy dragged-up male historians from an absurdist future guide us through an archival video artefact: Ate Bush, a lost drag queen lip syncing through the pandemic-stricken city. Following her journey through the abandoned urban landscape, they become enticed and infuriated by her unattainable feminine mystique and are each overwhelmed by that which they cannot explain.

Combining film, drag, a killer Kate Bush catalogue and a camp sci-fi background, I Don’t Know Why I’m Crying celebrates and critiques our sometimes misguided, sometimes fruitful, but always insatiable impulse to make meaning of the circumstances we face.
