DoxBox Trustbot is a shared, interactive and unique experience of considering and discussing the trustworthiness of those we share data with, how much this happens whether we know it or like it or not, and how many data versions of ourselves we create online.
DoxBox draws attention to the humanity or inhumanity of algorithmically and electronically mediated relationships, and how transactional they are. It encourages us to consider how data collected about us might change if factors like our age, gender or nationality were different.
DoxBox makes us think whether we should question the hard evidence that data seems to provide about us to other people we know, to companies, to the authorities. It's also super kawaii, hot pink, and loves J-pop.
DoxBox really listens and reacts to your answers, so be ready to overshare, because DoxBox rewards you with its own special Trust Credits when you do. Please make sure your phone is turned ON during the performance.
Commissioned by the Open Data Institute's Data as Culture programme, funded by Innovate UK.
At checkout you will be asked 'Do you want an interactive experience?'

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
