Beats & Elements’ 10-year birthday. Kinda. Not really. Things can only get better - is a celebration of almost 10 years since Beats & Elements debut hit show, No Milk For The Foxes first graced the CPT stage. For this, they will perform songs and scenes from acclaimed shows No Milk and High Rise eState of Mind, as well as brand-new material. Expect beats, bars, dialouge, class-chat and laughs.
In 2013, artists Conrad Murray and Paul Cree decided to form their own company, Beats & Elements which would centre the working-class stories, often at the heart of their conversations and using their lexicon of rap, beatbox, drama and spoken word, to create exciitng new theatre.
CPT began supporting the company in 2014, giving them their first full-lentgh scratch for No Milk For The Foxes and subsequently programming a full 3 week run, a year later. The show was an acclaimed sucess, garnering the company many great reveiws. This led to CPT being a co-producer on their second show, High Rise eSate of Mind, which featured assoic artists Lakeisha Lynch-Stevens, and David Bonnick Jnr, aka rapper Gambit Ace. High Rise went on to tour CPT, BAC, Home Manchester, Southbank Centre, Home Slough and GL4 Gloucester.
Since that first meeting in 2014, Beats & Elemets have enjoyed a great relationship with CPT and are proud to have worked extensivley on their community projects and digital platfom.
"Hats off to the CPT for this fine show, well researched and coming from a place of great passion... Community theatre at its most effective."
