The CRIP Monologues - Jamie Hale
Content warning: Contains nudity but nothing explicitly sexual.
This performance will also have audio description and captions.
You don't know whether you're allowed to stare, do you?
The CRIP monologues place a disabled body naked, onstage. What does it mean to invite audiences to stare - and what happens when that body is staring back? Drawing from the Butch Monologues and Vagina Monologues, this sharing contains two short pieces, with themes of gazing, staring, and observation. The first step in developing a series of monologues to be performed as a community project, it works to demedicalise and demystify the disabled body. Funny, challenging, and honest, it centres the disabled experience, and reaches for joy.
The Daisy Chain - Princess Bestman
Age Guidance: 14+
"Approximately 46% of children in care will have a mental health disorder."
A brutally honest solo show written and performed by a British Careleaver, The Daisy Chain follows Ash and their attempts to avoid the negative stereotypes that children growing up in foster care are faced with. The Daisy Chain is a vulnerable insight into the complexities of life after care. It uses song, rap and lived experiences to expose the impact that social workers and foster carers have on a young person beyond their years in the care system.
It's a Motherf**king Pleasure - FlawBored
Age Guidance: 14+
Blindness isn't sexy...yet. Megalomaniac Blind talent manager Tim wants to rebrand disability. Is ambitious but naïve Blind influencer Ross his golden ticket? Expect glittered-up canes, Blind spin-offs of your favourite TV shows, and a sprinkling of highjacked political causes.
Walking the tightrope of comedy and tragedy, FlawBored’s award-winning debut show satirises the pervasive monetisation of identity in influencer culture. A work-in-progress show by the winners of the 2022 LET Greenwich Theatre Award with integrated access at its core.
"CPT is as a beacon of fringe goodness, a theatre that champions diversity, inclusivity and the best kind of weird uniqueness"
