Performed and created by Yifei Ma, with background in set and costume design, now as well as a theatre maker with a passion for cross-disciplinary work, Look marks her debut as the creator of her own performance. In her practice, she is keen to push the boundaries to engage the audience in a thought-provoking exploration of the gaze, identity, and perception.
Look is directed by Nikos Lekakis, a theatre maker and actor with over a decade of experience in the performing arts, TV and film, across Europe. Collaborating with Yifei, he combines his expertise in physical theatre and working with camera to challenge the relationship between form and content, provoking thought on the complexities of having or not the absolute control to direct one’s gaze and look.
