Homos and Houmous is a queer Jewish theatre company run by Ray Filar and Dex Chait Grodner. We make live art theatre that is flamboyant, serious, fantastical, camp, punk, emotionally raw and overdressed. Recent shows include: ‘A Very Homos and Houmous Chanukah’ at The Yard Theatre, and ‘One Night Stand at the Mohel Court’, at the Royal Court Theatre.
In 2016, H&H began as a cabaret night, programming drag, political talks, new theatre writing excerpts, live music and more. We centre diasporist queer Jews and other queer performers engaging with faith. From 2021-2023 H&H was in residence at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. In 2024 Dex and Ray will be part of the Royal Court’s playwriting group.
