Blending guzheng, Celtic harp, and bodhrán, Hong Kong guzheng artist Wan Xing joined by Scottish harpist Eleanor Dunsdon and percussionist Gregor Black creates a distinctive musical dialogue between Chinese and Celtic traditions. Formed after meeting at Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Global Musician Workshop, the trio shares a commitment to cultural exchange and musical storytelling. Their work reimagines traditional repertoire through original arrangements and improvisation, uncovering unexpected connections between distant musical languages.

The performance moves fluidly between reinterpreted folk melodies and newly developed material, shaped by real-time interaction and a shared sensitivity to rhythm, texture, and phrasing. Each concert becomes a living exchange, where tradition is not fixed but continuously evolving. Following its acclaimed debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the trio has been invited to the Edinburgh International Harp Festival. The ensemble offers a refined performance that is intimate and expansive, connecting audiences through a contemporary expression rooted in heritage.
