2 years ago: A.I. explodes in popularity and ability.
20 years ago: A computer wins a game of chess.
400 years ago: A clockwork child is thrown in the ocean.

Nothing is as it seems, nothing quite as remembered.

    'function.' is:
    - A show about robots and humans, performed by a robot (controlled by a human).
    - A piece of docu-theatre taking place between the 16th century BC and now, from the bottom of the ocean to the planet Mars.
    - An exploration of the history of artificial intelligence, the limits of human imagination, and why we build things in our own image.

(Also its a work-in-progress, all of this could change by the time you see it. Beep boop.)

    Supported by Volcano Theatre Swansea

"Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
