“Only in her laugh there was something missing – a certain tone, depending on the possibility of sorrow. She never smiles.”

A woman cursed with weightlessness, afloat like a balloon cloud and unable to cry. Gravity and gravitas don’t come easy to everybody. Do we have to pin our last hopes on a suicidal prince?

This multi-sensory performance investigates the topic of (dis)connection, interweaving verbatim with George MacDonald’s The Light Princess. We explore what social, emotional and physical connection mean to us in these alienating times. Surrender to an immersive experience including aroma technology, spatial sound and environmental stimuli. Bon appétit!

The Light Princess will be a first work-in-progress showing at CPT’s Sprint Festival.

The Light Princess is supported by Arts Council Englands National Lottery Grant

"Timeless and yet modern....The show conveys Wilde's frighteningly modern message without mercy."

"The seed commission has made me feel supported, not just as an artist but also a woman of colour whose story needs to be heard."
