Join Sam Marlowe as he recreates live the cinematic 'noirish' nightmare inside his mind straight into your ears.*
Sam is obsessed with detective stories and film noir, so he can’t help but start digging when his long-term crush drops a case into his lap. Struggling to cope with the recent separation of his parents, he takes refuge in an internal narration in the hardboiled style of Raymond Chandler.
Sam fights to hold onto his narrative as sleep deprivation sets in and he begins to descend into surrealist chaos. Using multiple cameras edited live, voice manipulation to present all the characters and extensive sound design mixed live to piece together the final weeks of high school where one supposed cheating partner lead to a seismic scandal systematically spread across campus.

*Headphones will be provided but BYO available.

"This immersive, ambitious production drags each and every member of the audience into the nightmare too."
    Ths Scotsman
"High school has never seemed so sordid and so dangerous. We are sucked into Sam’s increasing delirium and can never be sure what is real and what is part of his fever dream."
    Michael Calcott, Fringey Bits
"The Final Approach uses these layers of nostalgia to illustrate that the teenage experience – dealing with a complex range of new, unexpected emotions – never really changes."
    Reviews Hub
"This fiery sermon is a very impressive display of the power an eloquent snake-oil salesman has over his subjects, and the result is as riveting as it is frightening."

"Jordan’s writing is almost sadistic in its brilliance."
A Younger Theatre on previous work
"Layers of narrative peel slowly back as the truth and lies collide, until our sympathy fades altogether."
