The Bystanders is a two-man explosive movement piece exploring men being bystanders to the violence against women, how toxic masculinity is nurtured through our most vital years from childhood to early adulthood, and how it suffocates a man’s world while simultaneously crippling a woman's.

The show explores the root of the cause and our attitudes towards women through the lived experience of men but also the real-life stories and voices of women.

"Powerful message, amazing concept, stunningly executed. Masterful direction from Rrita Pula and beautifully acted. Goosebumps!"
    Audience feedback

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
