STABLE is a one-person, autobiographical show by first-time writer and performer, Beth Crackles. It explores the lasting impact of domestic abuse on the child that has experienced it, as well as challenging the 'why did she stay?' narrative around abusive relationships.

Growing up on a horse stables with an abusive stepfather, themes include family, mental health and horse dealing in the 90s. The show explores the incremental build-up of dependency and control. Because it doesn’t always start with violence.

Ever think you might understand animals better than people? Ever think, ‘how did I get in this situation in this relationship?’ Ever think that your family is really quite odd? This is the show for you.

Uncontrollable laughter and sibling solidarity are at the heart of STABLE. Abuse isn't a funny topic, but laughter is one way of coping. STABLE is simultaneously heart-breaking and heart-warming.
