Don't fill yourself up on a whole play, just have some nibbly bits. Theatre Tapas presents "Politiclowns!"

Politics is full of clowns, but ours are better. Join us for an evening of exciting new work from the minds of 3 of London's most exciting comedians as they take on the world of politics, showing us just how much of a joke it can all be.

    'Horrible Things' by Frankie Thompson

In an experiment that is kind of like Bagpuss except horrible, Frankie Thompson is collecting horrible things. Things she’s picked out of her ear, found stuck to the bottom of her shoe, retrieved from the back of the sofa and unexpectedly found in a sandwich. She sniffs them, licks them and then puts them into a show. If you laugh it’s comedy if you don’t it’s performance art.

About Frankie: A trained clown, actress and theatre maker from London. Her show BODY SHOW (with Liv Ello) sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as a subsequent three week run at Soho Theatre and received a plethora of 5 and 4 star reviews. Frankie's anarchic one-woman show Catts enjoyed a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022 to rave reviews which followed with a sell-out run at Soho Theatre in 2023.

Old Man and the Press Conference by Lil Wenker

A dark new physical comedy clown piece about the United States’ refusal to set an age cap for people working in some of the world’s highest offices. She explores both the dangers to the world and the lack of humanity for these officials through rowdy and playful audience interaction.

About Lil: Lil Wenker (real name) is an award-nominated clown from Minnesota currently based in London. Her latest show, BANGTAIL (dir Cecily Nash) premiered at the Ed Fringe 2024 after completing a tour in the US. She has previously performed with A De Castro at the Oslo Clown Festival and plans to continue touring BANGTAIL.

    'Clint Raggatoni' by Tim Chapman

After years spent in the violent crime-underworld of New York, ex-gangster Clint Raggatoni has found a new calling in life: becoming a couple’s therapist. A physical comedy work-in-progress

About Tim: Actor & clown Tim Chapman treats you to another one of his strange characters that has never seen the light of day and should, instead, have remained safely locked away in his head. He is also the co-founder of Shepard Tone Theatre, where his show ‘Coming Out of My Cage (And I’ve Been Doing Just Fine)’ sold out at Edinburgh Fringe 2023.

"His charming performance draws our attention from the first minute until the very end." - Everything Theatre
"Brimming with charismatic charm" - Fringe Guru
