    Violetta’s Diary

    Written and directed by Chaea Seo.

    Combining cinema and dance, this re-invention of the opera La Traviata is told through the eyes of the protagonist Violetta.

    The Women of the House of Atreus

    Written and directed by Zazi the Artist.

    A visceral retelling of the ancient Greek myth of the Curse of the House of Atreus through the perspectives of Klytemnestra, Kassandra, and Elektra.

    Written and directed by Kalli Fouseki.

    Blending silent cinema and the stage, this intermedial performance examines the fascinating relationship between Charlie Chaplin and his mother Hannah.

    Caught In Her Canvas

    Written by Kathryn Brayson and directed by Bell Gellis.

    After Dani mistakenly shows up to Renata's home to 'clean' she becomes trapped inside due to a sudden hurricane...

     

    Purgatory

    Written and directed by Ariane Fernebok.

    A couple is in a theatre, or is it their flat? Are they actors or characters? And who are we? As we become more embroiled in their arguments, the lines between reality and the stage become increasingly unclear.


     

    Sat 6th July – 7:00pm Triple Bill

    Babylon Cya Stop We Music

    Written and directed by Sion Symonds.

    An exploration of ethnic identity, anti-colonialism and cultural resistance, this verbatim piece features three friends, an island beach in Bermuda and their own experiences of oppressive systems under the umbrella of Babylon. 

     

    Bandida: Entre Dos Aguas

    Developed and performed by Priscilla Gomez.

    Exploring themes of identity, empowerment, and community, this fusion of Flamenco and Krump dance is a celebration of cultures and the autobiographical transformative journey of a woman finding her voice.

     

    A (20-something’s) Guide to Having a Vagina

    Written and performed by Rebekah Wotton.

    For vagina owners (past, present and future) and anyone else even the smallest bit interested.
    ‘I think there is something wrong and I’d like to return this item. I don’t remember buying it, it didn’t come with instructions, and I don’t have a receipt.’

    Family Portrait

    Written and directed by Daisy Isabel Kingston-Lynch.

    A physical exploration of familial relationships, the fallibility of memory and the importance of photographs. 

     

    As He Said: Stories of Rust and Stardust

    Developed by KD.

    An intimate, multidisciplinary installation experience exploring the personal narratives of individuals who experienced sexual assault as children.

    Written and directed by Codi Jaques.

    In an age of AI deep fakes, social media misinformation, and fake news, Extra! Extra! tackles the use of AI and post-truth within the theatre head on – to hilarious effect. 

     

    A Tale of Two: A New Musical

    Music by Luke Simnett. Book and Lyrics by Joel Trinidad. Directed by Bailey Cummings

    The premiere of musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. With a cast of only two actors, this spellbinding French revolution story comes to life through an edgy, pop-punk soundtrack. It truly is the best of times and the worst of times!

    Echoes of Nekyia

    Written and directed by Cleopatra Lsk. 

    Drawing inspiration from Odysseus’ trip to Nekyia (the underworld) in Homer’s “Odyssey”, this new play unfolds the true story of a Syrian man in his attempt to cross the Mediterranean Sea in order to come to Europe.

    A surrealist, one person show about the person inside the head of a neurodivergent, trans person who, really, is just trying to get through everyday life.

    In this one-act psychological thriller, a toxic relationship unfolds within the claustrophobic confines of a house. At its heart lies a mysterious couple whose bizarre and twisted relationship gradually exposes a dark and sinister reality…
