Dante and the Robot is a solo play set in a man’s bedsit in a busy metropolis, his only companion is a house robot named She-bot. His girlfriend has left for Japan to disconnect from technology and live an older, simpler way of being. Dante is lost. He is in an unfulfilling job he hates, and so he decides to write a film. As the script emerges, the audience follows a Spanish extravagant knight errant quest, battling monsters and travelling epic landscapes, alongside his French squire.

Tobi King Bakare and this theatre deserve a shout-out for such a young, diverse audience. There is so much talk about audiences being full of over 60s and why, why can’t theatres get the crowds in to reflect society in general? Well, I’m happy to say that on a rainy Thursday evening, the theatre was completely full.
