    YOUR STORY

    Presented by IRENE CIONI

Your Story: inspired by Instagram, explores the world of every-day micro performances. Words and dancing, instants and moments. Expect movement and text, an ASMR adjacent sound-world and a highly skill-full strip tease.

Inspired by Instagram and the way you can instantly projects one’s life snippets onto the consciousness of anyone who happens to be scrolling by; in Your Story Irene shares both unattractive and attractive moments of her day and make them the star of the show.
She uses ASMR inspired sound effects to frame these mundane moments and her dancing skills and physical presence to display herself as a human, a mother, a wife, a middle aged woman, an immigrant etc.

The solo Your Story was premiered last November 2021 in Florence, Italy, with title La Tua Storia. This show is based on having a rigorous rule to focus solely on the day of the performance. The audience will hear about what the performer did the same morning until the very moment of telling what she has just done in the show and what she is about to do as a grand finale.

Irene's work has been previously described as ‘Fresh and forward thinking’, ‘ simple yet exquisite’ and ‘superb choreography’.

Your Story has been supported by Arts Council England.

    YOGHURT IS NOT SEXY

    Presented by JESSICA FRIEND

A young woman in white skips towards an ice cream factory. There, an older man watches her slowly bite into the ice cream and later, suck on the stick. As she skips off down the street, we hear the musical refrain: "I dream a dirty dream of you baby".

Yoghurt Is Not Sexy is a provocative exploration of food, sex and the Western world we live in, told through an immersive performance art exhibition.

Centred around Ruby, a character inspired by a recent Magnum Ruby commercial, Yoghurt Is Not Sexy will take you on a journey from childhood to adulthood, exploring lifestyles fed by consumption, the sexualisation of women in adverts, treatment of women and the earth, the role of gender, class, food and sex, and more.

Expect a messy, provocative and thought provoking experience that challenges the heteronormative male gaze and our strange intersection of consumption in Western Society.

First seen at Arcola Theatre's Festival 'Today I Am Wiser' last year as a filmed exhibition, Yoghurt Is Not Sexy is making its LIVE debut at Camden People's Theatre with a dynamic ensemble cast.

Cast: Meghan Bartual Smyth, Jessica Friend, Muireann Gallen, Grace Leland, Lily Roberts, Jessica Shaw & Amy Margaretta

    THE TRASH SUPPER

    Presented by Lucia Pazzini

With one foot in the Church and one in the sewer, The Trash Supper is an early-stage work in progress live art show that takes as a starting point an absurd, visceral, and anarchic restaging of the Passion of Jesus.

Drawing from drag culture, post-pornography, Catholic iconography and Lucia's own existential mess, The Trash Supper merges the political with the autobiographical whilst investigating abjection, identity, consumption, and Lucia's autistic mind.

Performers: Lucia Pazzini, Alice Bradley & Michael Cotter
