    ‘Rhythm and flow’

Before I Go runs with a live drummer who acts as the pulse. When expressing himself, Ajani jumps in-between verse and prose electrifying the ethereal space.

In Ajani’s reflection, he teaches us not be afraid to express ourselves even with the many barriers we may face. Focussing on being black, male and working class.

Although Before I Go shares a universal message, Before I Go is for the Mandem.

‘Mandem’  -  a collective noun for a bunch of boys or men, particularly your own group of mates.

Supported by The Albany. Supported by Battersea Arts Centre.

"Before I Go is a brave, touching journey of self-awareness, healing, and overcoming"
    Off/Stage
"The script teaches us that there is a big difference between talking and communicating; it explores systemic racism, patriarchy and the ways in which societal pressures force our hand against our will"
    THERENDITION
" A thrilling, charming and poetic show that beautifully explores the theme of expression"
    Robbi Stevens

"Our children live in the most deprived ward in London and their parents cannot afford to pay for the classes and activities many more privileged children enjoy after school and at the weekends. A free-to-access youth group run by a local theatre in a professional setting is an incredible opportunity."
