At CPT, we know that it takes both risk and rigour to create excellence.

We’re looking for six developing pieces, to share 45-60 minutes of work-in-progress. We’re interested in performance which asks big, sticky questions about what it is to be human, work which is outward looking, work which plays with form in order to serve content, and work which seeks to move a conversation forwards rather than re-iterating old tropes. We programme theatre, cabaret, and interdisciplinary work. We don’t tend to programme dance, live music, or stand up comedy.

A work in progress is an opportunity to get a piece of developing work in front of an audience, to test elements, to get feedback, and to feel how your work moves and shifts a room. The work should be genuinely un-finished - script in hand is fine, having questions is fine, not being sure about something is fine - but formed enough to sustain 45-60 minutes of public performance. We encourage you to take creative risks and try new things!

    You will get:
    -£200 seed commission
-Up to 5 days free rehearsal space
-Two half days of support from Artistic Director Rio Matchett, half a day of dramaturgy, and half a day of consultation on how to make your work accessible.
    -Marketing support
    -Half a day’s technical support
-A public, work in progress sharing
-A follow up meeting to debrief and plan your next steps

    Deadline - 8th August
